Assoc. Prof. Assia Konsoulova graduated from Medical University – Varna in 2003 and has two specialties: Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He acquired the academic position “Assoc. Prof.” in 2021. He currently works as the Head of the Medical Oncology Clinic at USBALO – Sofia.

Her professional qualification developed  in certified oncology centers, such as the Jules Bordet Institute in Brussels, Belgium with a European Union scholarship and at the Free University of Brussels. In 2017 she was a CECOG fellow at AKH – Vienna, Austria, then in 2018 with a European School of Oncology (ESO) fellowship she specialized at the Champalimo Clinical Oncology Center in Lisbon, Portugal.

Assoc. Prof. Konsoulova participates as a guest speaker at Bulgarian and international forums, mostly related to breast carcinoma, ovarian carcinoma and neuroendocrine tumors. She is also the winner of several prestigious awards, incl. MORE – Darzalas for 2016 for a significant contribution to Bulgarian Clinical Oncology and an educational grant of the College of the European School of Oncology – ESCO.

Assoc. Prof. Konsoulova is a member of ESMO, ESO, ECO and ASCO. She is the national coordinator of the European Initiative for the Quality Care of Patients with Lung Cancer (EIQMLCC) and the European Network for the Treatment of Teenagers and Young People with Cancer (ENTYAC). She is a member of the Ethics Committee of the “Young Oncologist” club – Bulgaria and the chairman of the Women in Oncology Association – Bulgaria. 

She is the author of numerous scientific reports at international congresses and over 100 publications, most of them in refereed international journals. She is a reviewer at the European Congress on Lung Diseases, Frontiers in Oncology, Women’s cancer section, Breast cancer, as well as several international and Bulgarian refereed publications. From 2020 is an ambassador of the European School of Oncology (ESO Ambassador) for Bulgaria.
